Dir rocket attack leaves five cops dead

TIMERGARA: At least five police men were killed including SHO, ASI and three constables when their van was hit by a rocket at Shringle road in Dir Upper district, reported ARY OneWorld here Wednesday.

The police official at Dir Upper told media persons that the miscreants attacked the police mobile squad with rockets during routine patrolling of the area.

The dead were identified as SHO Shringle Police Station Faatihur Rehman, Assistant Sub-Inspector Ameer Khan and three constables whose names could not be ascertained.

Police have started search for the arrest of the culprits and cordoned off the entire area. The attack on the police van was made in extremely hilly track.
